Antique Coin & Opal Necklace

Beautiful dendrite opal cabochon sits right in the middle of an old Chinese coin. We love the whimsy of this piece and all the good fortune it inspires! 

Chinese coins were produced with a square hole in the middle to allow collections of coins to be threaded on a square rod so that the rough edges could be filed smooth, and then threaded on strings for ease of handling. The stone peeks through the back of the coin.
