Growing up in Central and South America gave me a deep appreciation for handmade objects. My mother and I call them "cositas", primitive eclectic treasures we picked up along the way. What I came to appreciate was the
organic nature and artful flourishes that reveal the artist's hand - little subtleties, imperfections and inclusions that add interest. It's an aesthetic that connects me with the artistic process and a story.
